GSD with Big Woody’s

Sunday June 21st is the day that the world celebrates skateboarding and encourages everyone to get on a board, The Z-Flex UK crew,  Big Woody’s Skate Shop and the Blackpool scene were no exception. With Z-Flex picking up the tab for a day’s skate at Ramp City Skatepark, it was free entry all day for anyone that wanted to come and get on a skateboard.

Everything kicked off at 12 with the Blackpool crews flooding the park, ripping up everything in sight, including the13ft Vert Ramp, the Bowl, Street Course and Mini Ramps of all shapes and sizes. Woody started the Jams going by throwing out spot prizes on the Euro Gap and it went off! Next up was the Mini Ramp where prizes were given for the longest, highest and most tech. There was also a ‘Blunt a Chipper, Win a Chipper’ comp. Two dudes pulled it off and walked away with the goods. Check the edit out to see them in action!

Things then moved over to the Street Course and the 8 set where the Isle of Wight’s finest: Darren Tate stuck a BS Flip to walk away with a Big Woody’s Shop Board. Z-Flex Flow Rider Robert ‘Sandy’ Sanderson throw countless tricks down the stairs and even the ever un-nameable FS Willy Grind down the rail.

Everything got wrapped up on the 2 Vert Walls where a Z-Bullet was up for grabs for whoever could slash the coping on the monolith.

A massive thank you goes out to Big Woody’s for putting on such a rad event, Jake Powell for a rad edit, the guys at Antix App and everyone in the Blackpool scene knows how to throw down. See you all again at Christmas!
